During the maximum night of the Leonids 1997, Josep M. Trigo in Spain was able to photograph this −8m bright fireball with an f = 20mm lens. The fireball appeared at 03h38m24s UT on the exposure that had started 6 minutes earlier. The persistent train was visible for 3 minutes with the naked eye and for 5 minutes in binoculars.
