... shows a variant of the „Etruscan vase“. The term "Etruscan vase" actually refers to the distortion of the solar disk at sunrise or sunset, when a mirage directly below the solar disk distorts the Sun into the shape of an (Etruscan) vase. But it also works near a hilltop with road signs. The picture was taken on 2 May 2008 by R. Nitze.
