Our cover picture ...
... shows the green ray on 28.10.14 on the Fichtelberg in the Ore Mountains (1214m). An inversion layer produced a brilliant sunset with a distorted Sun and, due to mirage effects, large detached segments that turned green at the end. The green segment is one of three subtypes of the green ray, which also include the green rim and the green flash (see <link themen/atmos/luftschichten/gruener-strahl>http://www.meteoros.de/themen/atmos/luftschichten/gruener-strahl</link>)
