Roter Regenbogen

When the sun is low over the horizon, rainbows can appear partially or completely red. The same effect occurs as with the evening or morning glow. At a low sun position, the light has to travel a longer path through the atmosphere. The short-wave blue light is scattered more strongly than the red light. The rainbow appears red.
