Lightning
A lightning strike is a brief but very strong electric current that equalizes different strong electrical charges between the clouds or between the clouds and the earth during a thunderstorm.
Ball Lightning
Science is now in agreement that ball lightning really exists, as it has been artificially created in laboratories. However, there are several hypotheses regarding its formation, ranging from electromagnetic waves to silicon clouds.
Sprites

"Red Sprites" are a luminous phenomenon that occurs above thunderstorm cells and can reach a height of 100 km. 

St. Elmo's Fire

St. Elmo's Fire is a spark discharge that occurs with strong voltage differences between the ground and the air, and is preferably observed on metal points, masts, or towers.
