The aurora alert list aims to warn of upcoming aurora nights or currently occurring auroras in Germany. If a member of the alert list sends an email to the list, then all members of the list receive the message. This way, every member on the list has the chance to observe a possible aurora from Germany.

Requirements
The following conditions must be met to send a warning to the warning list.
- Aurora sighting in Germany or neighboring countries
- KP value >=6 (also applies to hourly KP values)
- K value from the Scheggerott Magnetometer >=6

Submit Report: Examples
The subject must include the location and time of the sighting in case of an observation.

Important: This must be stated in the subject, not in the main text of the email. Please only enter the location and time, not the word "Aurora". If a warning is to be issued due to the KP or K value, then enter in the subject KP=6, or K=6. A higher value (7, 8, 9) should, of course, be entered. With K or KP=6 and 7, an aurora will not necessarily be visible, but with K or KP=8 or 9, the probability is very high. Example: KP=7, 22:10 CESTor K=8, 19:30 CET
Warnings can only be sent or received by members of the groups.io aurora group!
Send warning
Please do not send emails to the warning list if it is not about a warning!!! Every email to the list goes to over 800 people, and many of them forward these emails to their mobile phones.
